Fitness // Half Marathon Training ~ 8 Miles & The Love Your Body Challenge

Hey all and happy Sunday! I have just got back from a blissful weekend away, Matt and I took a trip away to celebrate our eight year anniversary. It was a really relaxing weekend but I will tell you more about that later in the week.

Yesterday I ran EIGHT miles! Oh yes. I am super happy with that, especially after having a mini break over the holidays. I went out with the intention of running eight miles but I thought to myself that if I wasn't feeling up to it I would stop at six. Five miles into my run the heavens opened and I got thoroughly drenched! I just kept on going and pushed through. My Dad used to have me training in all weathers so to be honest if it rains while I am out then it doesn't really bother me. After all ~ it might be raining on the day!

My training over all has got pretty much back on track with a three mile run on Monday, five miles on Thursday and the eight miles on Saturday. I am happy with my progress and I am confident that I can now start to build up the distance. This week has also seen the start of the Tone It Up Love Your Body Fitness Challenge. If you are looking for something to challenge you and your own perspective of your body, fun fitness routines, healthy recipes and to meet amazing women around the world then sign up! You won't regret it. I love the Cupid's Cardio routine for the treadmill as interval training really mixes things up, keeps it interesting and is one of the best ways to both effectively burn fat and build up your fitness.

This week also saw me heading back to my Friday night yoga class which I adore! Nothing like a good stretch out for tired muscles and it is great strength training too :)

Let me know if you are joining in on the Love Your Body challenge or what you are doing to mix up your fitness routine this week. I would love to know!
