Beauty // Winter Skincare

So yes it has been far too long since I sat down and wrote up a beauty post. FAR too long! So today I thought I would share with you the products that have been keeping my skin sane this winter.

REN Skincare has got my be my best beauty discovery of 2013, I received a sample of size of one of their face masks and instantly knew I had to try more from this brand. This winter the only cleanser I have been using is the ClearCalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser, it is part of their ClearCalm 3 system which is aimed at blemish prone skin. I often suffer from blackheads, clogged and enlarged pores but this cleanser works perfectly with my skin to help combat them. It is formulated using camomile and clay which is apparent in the mask like consistency. It is very gentle and it certainly works to cleanse and unclog pours leaving it baby soft.

The second REN product which I have been using once a week is the Invisible Pores Detox Mask. It works to draw out impurities, unclog pores and help reduce pore size (are you seeing a theme yet?!). I like to use this when I am in the bath relaxing with a bath bomb and a magazine. I really notice a difference in my skin once I have used this mask.

The two moisturisers I have been using have both been in my skincare routine for a while. The Clinique Moisture Surge I have been using for years and years however, I haven't had a pot of it for a while. So you can imagine my excitement when I found a mini pot in my Christmas Goodie Bag from my Grandma. My skin just drinks this stuff up! I find that gel based moisturisers work best with my skin and this one is especially good. It helps to wash away fine lines, flakiness and tightness. If I use this before I go to bed I wake up looking so much more refreshed. The second moisturiser I have been using is the Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins. I do prefer the gel version of this night cream but the regular version is good for this time of the year as it is a little heavier. I especially like to use it on my neck area. I have written a full review of this cream here.

An eye cream is a must have skincare product for me and I always make sure I apply mine before I head to dreamland. My current favourite is a surprisingly long lasting mini tube of Origins GinZing. This amazing eye cream contains caffeine from coffee beans, panax ginzing and magnolia extract to wake up, refresh and restore tired eyes.

Last but not least I have been using the Clarins One-Step Facial Cleanser either as a skin refresh in the mornings or to remove the last of any make up which was missed from cleansing at the end of the day. It is a quick, effective cleanser which is perfect if you are in a hurry. It contains orange extract to tone and moringa seeds to purify. It always leaves my skin feeling refreshed and it is great at removing any stubborn eye make up.

I realise that this is all some what pricey high-end skincare but these are my current go to products and I thought you all might like to know what I have been using this winter! If you have any winter skincare favourites please do let me know, especially if they are a little kinder to your wallet!
