Fitness | Tone It Up ~ Beach Babe DVD Review


Phew! Today has been super hectic at work, I barely had time to breathe. I got through it though, the thought of the sunshine and getting outside with the horse kept me motivated. I'm LOVING the sunshine we are having in the UK at the moment :) I will have some beauty posts coming up this weekend, I just haven't had a chance to take pictures recently! Today I thought that I would share with you a workout DVD review. I have tried and tested the Beach Babe DVD over the past few months so it's about time that I let you know my thoughts. 

The Beach Babe DVD contains seven exclusive workouts from Tone It Up, they are a great mix of full body toning, shorter workouts which are easy to tack onto the end of a run or gym workout, a HIIT cardio routine and a yoga/ stretching routine. Since I got the DVD back in November I have used it without fail at least once a week. The routines are fun and Karena and Katrina are full of energy which keeps you going! The routines incorporate the Tone It Up 'fine toning method' which really works, if you use their YouTube videos you will know what this is. 

So what are the seven workouts?

Surfer Girl ~ This is a full body toning routine which is focused at strengthening the core and arms, slimming the tights and lifting the bum! This is such a fun workout where the girls use surfer moves to add some fun to the routine. 

Bikini Sculpt ~ This is the longest workout on the DVD at 40 minutes long. I love to do this one on Saturday mornings when I have a bit more time to focus on my workout. It is hard but it a good way and you are guaranteed soreness the day after ~ Better to be sore than sorry!

HIIT The Beach ~ High Intensity Interval Training! This is a great workout if you are short on time and need to fit some cardio in. This workout was an absolute godsend to me during the winter months when it was all about the dark mornings. It never fails to get me sweating!

Summer Arms ~ This looks like it is going to be easy but trust me, your arms will burn! Short and sweet at 12 minutes long I find that this is a great routine to tack onto the end of other workouts. 

Bikini Booty & Bikini Abs ~ These are focused toning routines. One of the most common questions I get asked is 'what ab workouts do you do?' well this is it! I honestly stick to the Tone It Up routines every week and keep it up. Consistency is key. These two workouts were absolute killers for me when I first started but now I can do all the moves including all the side plank work in Bikini Abs without having to modify it. 

Long & Lean ~ My favourite stretching routine. In incorporates basic yoga moves with stretching to create a relaxing routine which stretches out those tired muscles and increases circulation. I will be honest here, I never used to stretch after going for a run and I always used to wonder why I ached so much the next day. The Long & Lean routine is the perfect cooldown for after a long run or even if you just want to stretch out after a long day at work.
