Hi girls! Just a quick fitness update from me today about week three of the Tone It Up Love Your Body Challenge. This week as you will know we got snow, and with snow comes ice! Which means no running for me, so I have been doing my indoor HIIT workouts instead. HIIT means High Intensity Interval Training and is the best type of routine to burn as many calories as possible in a short space of time. This means they are perfect for morning workouts when you are short on time, quick, effective and they will increase your metabolism for the rest of the day. My favourite is HIIT the Beach from the Beach Babe DVD. It is about 20 minutes long and it makes a great start to the day as you get cardio and toning in one.
On Sunday I braved the weather and headed out (wrapped up warm!) for a snow run. I was determined to get my 5km run in that day, so I walked over to the nearby rugby pitches where the snow was still practically untouched and ran round them. I must admit the cold air was refreshing and even though I ran slower than normal my legs got a good workout as it was as if I was running in sand. The snow creates a good resistance. When I got home I warmed up with my favourite Perfect Fit Pancakes and a cup of coffee! The recipe I linked to makes one pancake so if you decide to make them you can double or triple the recipe depending on how many people you are making them for. I always make two as Matt loves the pancakes too! If you don't have Perfect Fit Protein you can always substitute in 20g of wholemeal spelt flour.
I hope you all have a good week. Don't forget you can keep up to date with my daily fitness updates on twitter and Instagram (@jaynebecca). I would love to know what you have been up to this week fitness wise or even if you have any healthy recipes leave me a link below!
You've been really focused this week, I'm unfocused today. It's not good. Just can't get myself to move but despite getting up at 5:45 on Monday, not getting home till half 7 I still went the gym and did a 45 min run. =)
