Today I thought I would share with you all this 'tag' post which has been on a few of my favourite beauty blogs recently. I think that 'tag' posts are a good way to get to know people better and I always love to read other peoples answers too. So lets jump right in!
For me this was very much a gradual thing. I was never one of those super girly girls when I was a teenager, I much preferred being up at the stables with the horses and being outdoors. However I was about 14 when I first started to be interested in make up. I remember pinching my Mam's mascara and her telling me that if I was going to wear it I should at least take it off properly at night. She then bought me some eye make up remover! It has been very much a gradual progression from there, I am lucky that I have generally had pretty good skin my whole life (save for the monthly hormonal break outs!) so I never really felt the need to wear heavy make up. Mascara, eye shadow and a bit of tinted moisturiser and I was good to go! Over the last couple of years from watching my favourite YouTubers I have learnt how to apply make up properly and use it to make the most of what I have got. I still like to keep it simple and I'm scared of bold lip colours but I love feeling polished and put together once I have my make up on.
How do you feel without make-up?
I feel perfectly fine going bare faced at home as I like to give my skin time to breathe. I have learnt to accept my flaws as I have got older, after all when you have a four inch scar on your forearm you quickly learn that no one is perfect and every scar tells a story. So being without make-up doesn't generally worry me. I don't wear make-up when I go out running (it would be a waste, I'd just sweat it off!) but I do feel more confident if I wear make-up when I am out and about. I generally go for the more natural look - less is more!
I love how make-up can enhance your natural beauty; I think that make-up is all about making the most of what you have. I also love how it can give people so much more confidence and transform a look. How many make over shows have you watched and thought how different a person can look with new clothes and new make up? It's amazing what a little bit of pampering can do! I also love the looks that you can create for fashion shoots and shows, although it is generally not something you would wear on an everyday basis I love the creativity behind it.
Three 'Holy Grail' items
NARS Laguna Bronzer | This is one product that I religiously use everyday. I think that bronzer can shape your face and give you a wash of colour. It certainly makes me look more alive in the mornings! If you are yet to try a NARS product I highly recommend starting with this one.
Urban Decay Naked Palette | My boyfriend bought this for me last Christmas and I have used it so much. It is great because it has all the neutral eye shadows you could possibly need and you can create so many different looks from it. I especially love this for travelling because it is all you will need to take with you.
Real Techniques Stippling Brush | Not a make-up product as such but I believe that good quality make-up brushes make a big difference to the application and finish of your make-up. The Real Techniques brushes are great quality and reasonably priced too! I have noticed a big difference in the finish of my foundation by using this brush and I love how quick and easy it is to buff the foundation in to my skin which is a great time saver in the morning!
I hope you enjoyed reading my answers to this tag post, make sure to leave me a link below if you have done this tag too. I tag all of you to this tag!
