58 Day Shopping Ban!

Happy Thursday! I am so glad that it is Friday tomorrow, I have had quite a tiring week at work and I am not even sure why. I think I need to book a holiday so that I have some sunshine to look forward to ;) Last night we went to see Of Monsters And Men in Bristol and they were amazing! If you haven't heard their album yet I suggest you give it a listen.

So after my London Shopping I really need to get saving up my pennies again. I need to save for our holiday this year and I just generally think that I could save a little bit more for a rainy day. So from the title of this blog post you may have guessed that I am going to be on a 58 Day Shopping Ban ~ today is Day 1. I know that a lot of bloggers are taking part in the 100 day spending ban but I thought that I would do something a little bit different and not as strict as the spending ban. However, I am going to try and cut down on buying coffee at work by bringing in my green tea bags. We have a Costa coffee cart in our office (it's a big office) so it's always so tempting to pop downstairs and get myself a skinny latte but at £1.55 a pop it can add up! I also spend £4.70 a week for my Friday Spinning class which I want to keep up with, so this isn't going to be a total spending ban :)

What is off limits for me? I cannot buy clothes, make up or toiletries that I do not need. I have a huge box of skincare which I need to use up so I can't see me running out any time soon! Make up wise I have two bottles of foundation to get through and plenty of everything else.

Why 58 days? Because it is 58 days until my April pay day!

What is the incentive for getting to the end of my ban? I was reading Evelyn's Blog and she has an 'Incentive Jar' which I thought was a great idea! For every full sized product used £1 goes into the jar, £2 for a full sized make up item and 50p for a sample size. At the end of my shopping ban I can treat myself to one high end product. I'm excited to see how much I can save.

I thought that I would update you on a weekly basis about how my shopping ban is going. This will also be a good opportunity to do some mini-reviews of sample sized products I use up ~ which I have a lot of! Let me know if you are on a shopping or spending ban as I'd love to hear how it is going for you :)

  2. My spend ban finishes at the end of March (thank goodness)- I only banned beauty products and have been good so far but have a feeling I'll be breaking it this weekend (Elemis on QVC!). Good luck! xx
