My Beauty Resolutions for 2013

I saw this post over on Sasha's blog - Ramblings of a Beauty Bird and I thought it was a fun post to do ~ a little bit different from the usual New Year resolutions. If you haven't checked out Sasha's blog before I urge you to have a look! After reading my post of course :)

Make Up
  • Invest in a good tinted moisturiser. I need to take the plunge and invest in one as I feel that my skin would benefit from the lighter coverage. I do try to go bare faced sometimes but when my skin is acting up I feel that I need a little something to even out my skin tone. I am trying to decide between the NARS or the Laura Mercier, if you have tried either leave me a comment below!
  • Achieve the perfect red lip and be confident while wearing it. I love my lip balms, nude/ pink lipsticks and of course pink lip gloss but I would love to be able to rock red lipstick. I just need to be more bold and confident!
Hair
  • I am honestly pretty happy with my hair and I love the colour however I would like to perfect my beachy waves for summer. I need to learn how to handle a curling iron properly to achieve the perfect loose curl.
Nails
  • Grow, grow, grow! I am getting better at not biting my nails so much. However, I would love to be able to grow them a little bit longer before they break. I think I need a strengthening treatment of some kind.
  • Do not pick off my nail polish. Does anyone else do this or is it just me with this vile habit? If I get a chip in my nail polish I will peel off the polish and if I can get it off in one go it is even more satisfying. Horrible! I need to stop this and it is no good for my nails.
Last but not least - smile more! A smile is worth 1000 words.

What are your beauty resolutions for 2013?

  1. Your second nail one is me completely! I just find it so satisfying to peel off my nail polish, one chip and I'm gone! And like you said if you can get it off in one go its even better! I've slowed up on doing this recently and my nails have been a lot healthier!

  2. I'm so bad with peeling off my nail varnish too, I should have including this in my resolutions haha!
I bought my boyfriend's sister Babyliss Wave Envy for Christmas, which is meant to be an easy way to get beachy waves (you just clamp the hair rather than having to curl it round a tong).
Thank you very much for the mention :-) xx

  3. You'll get there with the lippie Jayne - it'll either be a case of jumping right in (like I did!) or using your lippie as a stain and building up gradually! You're really lucky with your hair - mine's a nightmare! xx

  5. Great post - a nice beauty-related twist on the usual resolutions posts :)

I really want to try out the Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser, I have yet to find a really good tinted moisturiser!

For me lipstick-wise it's being that little braver with the bolder colours, I have gradually eased myself in with a few this year but I want to try more. As for finding the perfect red I find playing around at counters/chatting to MUAs for their honest opinion helps and when you do get the lipstick wear it as much as you can to "get used" to it if that makes sense :)

Hope you had a lovely Christmas!

    1. Thanks Sarah! I still can't decide between the LM or the NARS tinted moisturisers ~ I need to read some more reviews I think.

That makes sense about the lipstick - thank you! xx

  6. Rocking the red is such a good beauty resolution! It's sort of the epitomy of beauty confidence. I think you'll be able to do it :D And oh yes about the nail peeling. All the time and when it comes of in one gorgeous strip I feel like I've just found peace for all the lands! My beauty resolution is to stop buying so much excessive beauty stuff!!! I needs to save my pretty pennies :)

    1. Lady Danger does look like it is a great one for blondes! Going to have to swatch it :) I've heard great things about the emrapture rollers, I'll have a look into them! Anything that doesn't require much effort sounds good to me! x
