Motivation Monday | Fitness iPhone Apps

Happy Monday! I hope that your Monday is as good as a Monday can be, I really dislike the cold dark mornings at the moment as it feels like I am getting up in the middle of the night. Today I thought I would try to motivate you all and share with you a couple of fitness related iPhone apps which I use all the time. As I train and workout by myself it is sometimes hard to keep on going so this is what I use to keep myself motivated!

Nike+ Running AppI finally got myself an iPhone in February this year and one of the first apps I purchased was this one. I was training for the Bath Half Marathon and as you can imagine I found it quite tough in the winter months training by myself. This app helps me to track my progress.
You can listen to your music while running & I recently bought an armband for my phone while I am running - I would recommend getting one of these as I find it very useful. I used to put my phone in my back pocket and it would annoy me by weighing my running pants down - not attractive!

The app is very user friendly and I think this is perfect for beginners as well as seasoned runners. I like the timed run feature, for example you can set yourself to run for 15 minutes and then start to increase it 5 minutes at a time. I like the way the app tells you your time for each mile & lets you know when you are close to your goal!

Tone It Up App | Yes Tone It Up have an app, this was released recently and I got a bit over excited about it. I like having my trainers Karena & Katrina in my pocket where ever I go. I love this app because it is updated on a daily basis with a new workout for the day. They update it at 5pm PST which is 1am GMT so this is perfect for me because I wake up and have a workout ready to follow, without having to think about it in my half asleep state.
There are five buttons along the bottom - Share, Love, Inspire, Sweat and the TIU home button. Share is where you are able to connect with other Tone It Up girls from around the world as it links into the Tone it Up community. This is great for keeping yourself and others motivated. You will find your daily workouts under Love. Inspire is where you can add your photos and share them directly to Facebook and Twitter - if you follow Tone it Up at all you will know that daily check ins keep you accountable! I also find it fun to see peoples photos of their workouts and recipes :) Sweat is your wake up call! This is a fun part of the app as K&K wake you up, you just have to try it to see what I mean.

You can download both of these apps from the iTunes store. The Nike+ Running app is free and the Tone It Up app costs only 69p. These are the apps which keep me motivated but I would love to know if you use any apps to keep you motivated. Let me know in the comments!
