Haircare | Lush Happy Happy Joy Joy & Shine So Bright

Photobucket Photobucket

Lush launched their new haircare range last week and as a huge Lush fan I was excited to see what new treats they had in store. The lovely Lush shop assistants talked me through all of the new products. Lush has worked hard with this range to keep the preservatives to a bare minimum which really impressed me.

The Happy Happy Joy Joy Conditioner is a little bit different in that it is actually a 'Conditioning Hair Perfume'. If you like the smell of a Lush shop and want your hair to smell like one -- then this is the product for you! The ingredients include rosewood oil, orange flower absolute, grapefruit oil and neroli oil. Personally I love a shampoo or conditioner with a fragrence which remains with me throughout the day. Yes this might be a little bit of a gimmick but what can I say? It works for me! The product also conditions your hair with almond milk, jojoba oil, rose and orange flower waters which leave your hair smooth and soft.

The second product I was intrigued by was the Shine So Bright Hair Balm. This is a solid balm which melts with the warmth of your finger tips. You simply rub your fingers in the balm and then run them through the ends of your hair. I find that this is great for taming frizzy fly-aways and it also adds a lovely scent to your hair. It is aimed at helping with split ends -- of course nothing will help spilt ends more than a good hair cut -- and I can see why, it smooths down the ends of your hair and gives it a healthy shine. The main ingredient in this product is extra virgin coconut oil so I do think that you could probably get a similar effect from pure coconut oil which is a lot cheaper! I do like this product but I honestly think it is expensive for what it is.

You can purchase Happy Happy Joy Joy for £9/ 100g and Shine So Bright for £4.50/ 10g from any Lush store or online.

Have you tried any of the new Lush haircare products yet?

  4. I smelt the HHJJ when I was last in Lush and loved it! Couldn't justify spending the money on it though :(

  5. Hi! Can you tell me, do these products smell the same? I was going to order both, but judging by the ingredients list, they contain a lot of the same extracts (though, SSB has gardenia extract further down the list and HHJJ does not) so I'm curious if they smell at all alike?

  6. I'm going to lush today, I'm still on the fence if I'm going to get the shine so bright or a bath bomb. I know your right nothing can fix split ends but if it smooths them down a bit I think I'll try it.
