Guest Post | Vanessa from BesSkincare.com - 3 Ingredients, 2 Steps, $1 Hair Mask

Whether it's the hot, humid, smoggy summer months or the cold, dry winter months, our hair can take a serious beating.

And while I've been known to indulge in my fair share of pamper sessions, it can get a liiiiittle pricey.

So how is a girl supposed to keep her locks looking luscious while saving her dolla dolla bills? Simple, you embrace your inner DIY diva.

Moisturizing Madness, All Year 'Round

Not only is this natural hair mask easy to make but it costs, oh, around $1 each time you make it. Yes. ONE dollar. I mean, it's almost begging you to make it!

To get started simply grab yourself a small bowl and mix:
  • 1/2 cup of honey
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon of pure olive oil

Then just stir until it's well combined and can be easily spread through your already damp hair.

Make sure you have a shower cap close by so you can keep your hair all together and not dripping all over you or your floor. Leave the treatment on for up to 20 minutes so it can work its moisturizing magic before rinsing it out with cold water.

It's important to remember to only rinse with cold water as hot water would just cook the egg in your hair, and well, that's just not a good look for us ladies.

Once you have it all out of your hair, simply dry, style, and marvel at just how good your hair feels thanks to the natural humectant properties in the honey, which helps to lock in moisture, and the healthy fats and proteins in the egg and olive oil which help to keep your hair strong while leaving it with a healthy, radiant glow.

Et voila! A natural hair mask that is not only better for your hair then some salon products but it's cheap, quick, and oh-so-simple.
